All the Little Details

When Neomi first booked with us, her main concern was the ceremony.  She wanted an outdoor ceremony but was concerned about the weather due to her date being in February.  One of the upgrades that we offer here at Pacific Hills is the draping of the room.  It not only makes the room more elegant and upscale but it totally transforms the room into a blank canvas that you can do whatever you want with.  The design concept that she wanted was an enchanted feel but yet something different that her guests had never seen.  We had numerouse meetings about how the candles should be or how the menu cards should look like or how she wanted to display some photos of her and Andy.  The best thing about all this was is she had the great ideas and Andy was the great "handy-man" that made it all happen.

We were in charge of the flowers and the decor something that really makes our venue unique versus others.  The final decision was manzanita trees for every other table and glass floral centerpieces for the rest of the tables. We suggested that she use her florals for the ceremony and we would then move them to the reception room.  Not only did this save her money but it also enabled her to use her dollars else where.  She also hired the great team of Elsa and Melissa from (http://www.me-eventsanddesign.com).  They did a phenominal job of making sure everything went smoothly!!!

Different looks

Here are some other cool ideas and colors for weddings:

Asian Style Dining

Doing weddings and events from different cultures definitely exposes you to various traditions and customs.  We have served food for many different ethnicity's including family style dining with Asian food.  In traditional style Asian style dining, the food is served family style.  It consists of 7 - 10 courses or more of some of the best seafood's around.  Each course comes in a platter that can serve 10 guests, talk about having lots of great food.  The first course usually is a cold platter, followed by soup made either with shark fin or crab meat, followed by hot entrees.  You get to eat everything from braised duck, to shrimp to scallops to lobster to beef tenderloin.  Personally we recommend the honey walnut shrimp and the lobster.  So next time you are invited to a wedding that is serving Asian style dining make sure you come hungry!!!

Wedding Cake or Cup Cake

Who says you have to have a wedding cake at your wedding.  How about cup cakes at your wedding reception.  Your guests will still get to have dessert that is very unique and different.  Of course having a wedding cake is very traditional but it doesn't hurt to break away from tradition if your guests can enjoy something different!

Elegant Black!

Megan and Eric choose black and red with gold chivari chairs.  Two bold colors that look fantastic together.  They also brought in a photo booth so the guest can take some cool pictures and take them home with them.  Erice and Megan also had a monogram of their names on the wall which definitely gave the room a WOW factor when guests came in.  This is a great way to personalize your wedding recepiton.  Remember you can put anything on the wall with a monogram, a message, a symbol or anything else you want your guest to see.  for more pictures please visit A & M Photography at (http://blog.aandmphoto.com/2011/02/crossline-church-wedding-and-pacific-hills-reception-of-megan-and-eric/)

Black is Back

Two years ago, hardly anyone would use black as their primary colors for their wedding.  Now we have more and more brides requesting black linens or use of black as the main color in their wedding.  Black and red, black and blue and black and yellow are just some of the combinations we have done lately.  It's a bold look so if you want a color that is unique and different, black can really look lavish when its accented with the right color.

The black and blue combination pictures in this blog were taken by Gloria Plunkett from (http://gloriaplunkett.blogdrive.com/) on Oct 23, 2010.  Nick and Tamara had a blast as their wedding and Nick even sang a song and played bass guitar on the dance floor for Tamara.  They had a beutiful wishing tree that was made by their florist Precious Moments Florist.  The tree was displayed in the lobby and guest would write well wishes for the bride and groom.  It was a really nice touch and a great way to remember their guests.
